Bed Bug Treatment Directory

Bed bug heat treatment in the UK

Whole-room heat raises a room and everything in it to above 50°C and holds it there, which kills bed bugs and their eggs in one visit. Only a minority of UK pest control firms own the equipment. 49 listed firms describe heat treatment on their own sites, across 38 towns.

When heat is the right call, and when it is not

  • Heat wins when you need the room back fast, when sprays have failed, when the infestation is in sofas, divans or heavy furniture, and in hotels and short lets.
  • Spray wins on cost for a light, early infestation in one room, and in old buildings where heavy plaster, wiring or heat-sensitive items make heat impractical.
  • Either way, neighbours matter. In a flat, treating one home while the next stays infested rarely lasts. Bed bugs in flats.
